Mr. Gallagher Interview

Mr. Gallagher Interview

Interview with newcomer American Government and World History Teacher Mr. Gallagher.

Q: Where did you attend college and what was your major?

A: I went to Temple University with a major in secondary education, which is why I am sitting here today.

Q: How long have you been teaching?

A: This is my second year teaching. I was a Student Teacher and worked previously at Tacony Charter School.

Q: What made you want to be a World History/American Gov. teacher?

A: Going through high school, I wanted to be an Astrophysicist. When I started the classes, I didn’t find it interesting. I realized I have something more to give to the world. History was my favorite subject in school, and whenever I heard people talking about politics and how misunderstood they were (it has always been a pet peeve of mine), I wanted people to be educated.

Q: What made you want to come to Hallahan?

A: Well, I wanted to teach at a Catholic School, since I am a graduate of a Catholic School myself, and Hallahan was the first school to have an opening so I went for it.

Q: Do you enjoy teaching at Hallahan so far?

A: Yes, students and the staff faculty are great. Everyone has been kind and welcoming.

Q: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

A: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Q: What do you see yourself doing in five years?

A: In five years, I plan to still be teaching, hopefully here at Hallahan.

Q:To what teams/clubs did you belong to as a student?

A: As a student, I belonged to a number of clubs and teams. I was on the cross-country, track, and bowling teams, as well as a member of the theater department, school ministry, national honors society, band, and chorus.

Q: What is your all time favorite book?

A: My favorite book is The Republic by Plato.

Q: What are some of your interests and hobbies?

A: For hobbies, I like to read, play basketball, write, and play the piano.

Q: Who is your favorite superhero and why?

A: My favorite superhero would have be to be Doctor Strange because I like the mysterious genius with mystical powers whose abilities are not limited by physical constraints like other superheroes. Plus, being a martial arts experts is not bad.

Q: Any parting words or general advice about life?

A: My parting advice about life is that most people don’t regret the things they do or what they don’t do. Instead, they regret the missed opportunities they did not have the courage to take.
